Schönbrunn Palace Path
Walking through the Schönbrunn Palace grounds after a visit to the zoo, in freezing winter temperatures. I loved the geometry of the avenue — the trees lining both sides with their bare branches meeting overhead, forming a natural tunnel that drew the eye all the way to the light at the far end.
As the sun set, it caught only the right-hand trees in warm orange light, leaving the left side in cool blue shadow. That contrast between the two halves is what makes the image for me — the same path, two completely different moods, split right down the middle.
