Print quality
What paper do you print on?
Fine art paper prints are made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, a heavyweight 100% cotton fine art paper with a smooth matte surface. It is acid-free and lignin-free, so it will not yellow or turn brittle with age.
What inks are used?
Pigment inks rather than dye-based inks. Pigment sits more stably in the paper and holds up far better against fading, light and humidity over time.
What is the difference between the four formats?

What are the framing options?
Framed prints use a Legacy moulding with a single mount giving a 1″ border around the image. Frames come in Black, White, Cream, Taupe and Grey. Mounts come in White (warm), Black, Cream and Bright White — Bright White works particularly well with black and white images in a white frame. Glazing is HD acrylic rather than glass, which is lighter and far less likely to break in transit.
Will the print look the same as it does on my screen?
Close, but not identical. Every screen renders colour differently and most are brighter than paper. The portfolio images have been processed with print output in mind, so they are the best guide.
Sizing
What size should I choose?
There is a size guide with room-by-room comparisons. As a rough steer: A3 suits a desk or a small wall, A2 is the most popular choice for a living room or bedroom, A1 makes a statement over a fireplace, and A0 needs a genuinely large wall.
Why are some sizes missing on some images?
Sizes are filtered to match the shape of each photograph. A panoramic frame will not show square sizes, and a square image will not show long panoramic ones, because cropping either would mean losing part of the picture.
Do you offer custom sizes?
Not as standard, but it is often possible. Email me with what you have in mind.
Ordering
How do I pay?
Orders are paid by direct bank transfer. When you place an order you will be given the account details and your order reference — quote the reference with your payment and I will confirm once it has cleared, then start production.
How long will it take?
Fine art paper is usually within a week; metal around two weeks; canvas and framed prints two to three weeks, as they are made to order. Details are on the shipping page.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Not as a standard option yet. Email me at liam@liamhancox.co.uk and I will quote for shipping to you.
Are the prints signed?
Not as standard — handling a large print to sign it risks creasing it. If you would like a signed print, email me before ordering and I will sort it out.
Can I order several prints, or for a business?
Yes. For multiple prints, an office or commercial space, or if you need an invoice, email me and we will work it out directly.
